VISUAL EXPLORATIONS FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

This course will offer various media experiences.  Students will have an opportunity to explore and experiment with visual experiences using paint, yarn, papier-mâché, air dry clay, and paper. Parent or guardian is welcome to attend classes with student. *(ages 5 – 18)*

WATERCOLOR WOW!

June 24 – 28

12 pm – 2 pm

Watercolor painting is such a fun and versatile medium! In this intermediate level class, students will explore many fresh and engaging techniques. Some of the projects include a 3-D tunnel book, painted paper weaving, and an “exploding” book. Students will also have designated time each class to explore and experiment with their paints to create their own mini-series of watercolor paintings. (ages 10 and up)

DIY SCREEN PRINTING AND STENCILS

July 8 – 12

12 pm – 2 pm

Students will learn about the principles of printing and how to easily print at home. Basic fundamental design will be discussed in relation to the screen printing and stenciling processes. Using those techniques, students will design and print their own t-shirts and tote bags, as well as multiple prints on paper. (ages 12 and up)

WHAT’S KNOT TO LOVE? (MACRAME FUN)

July 15 – 19

9 am – 11 am

Learn all the designs you can do using just 2 basic knots. The square knot and the double half hitch. We will be making bracelets, key chains, and necklaces. (ages 12 and up)

DROP EVERYTHING AND DRAW!

July 15 – 19

12 pm – 2 pm

This is an intermediate level drawing class for any young artist looking to improve their sketching abilities. In this course students will practice drawing in a variety of styles using various types of media. Students will perform a diverse selection of exercises ranging from fun and informal to intricate and polished. (ages 10 and up)
