Artists on Art: Dr. Bob Scott

A film and talk about how wonder evolves from childhood to old age will be presented at the Swope Art Museum on Friday, October 20 at 6 pm. “Life Begins in Wonder. Let Life End in Wonder,” is an award winning short documentary film written and directed by Dr. Bob Scott, retired cancer researcher from Mayo Clinic and the University of Tennessee Medical School. The documentary, which has been shown on many PBS stations nationally, focuses on how wonder evolves from childhood to old age and explores how wonder offers a special way to approach the end-of-life and the question of “what’s next”. After the film, Dr. Scott will discuss the fostering and creating of the wonder concept. Dr. Scott is a native of Terre Haute, a graduate of Schulte High School and Vanderbilt Medical School.
