Soulaf was born and raised in Damascus, Syria. In 2008, she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Indiana State University, then later, returned to earn her Master’s in Fine Arts. She visited family in Syria in 2012 – a year after the revolution began. That experience gave her the inspiration for the thematic basis of her painting and printmaking work. She continues to explore the effects of loss and trauma in her oil painting and printmaking works and her stunning work has been exhibited internationally. Soulaf teaches art at Rose Hulman Institute of Technology. Hostesses Brenda Milliren and Tonya Pfaff.
