Gallery Three

In this two-part exhibition, artist Jonathan Soard examines the west central Indiana prairie landscape.  His images include the towering power plant chimneys that support our contemporary style of life.   “On the prairie, my world was cleanly divided between Heaven and Earth,” Soard, a native of Dana, Indiana, recalls.  “As far as my eye could see, there was a horizon line into infinity — no matter where I looked. I usually felt trapped on the wrong side of that line.”

The feature exhibition of Soard’s work will open October 4, 2013, preceded by an exhibition of drawings and documentation related to the feature exhibition, opening September 6, 2013.

Jonathan Soard, a native of Dana, Indiana, is an independent artist now living in Brooklyn, New York.  He studied at Indiana University and at Columbia University in New York City.
