Admission is free to the public.
Free two-two hour parking is available on Ohio Boulevard and Wabash Avenue, or visitors may park in the city garage located directly behind the museum for a nominal hourly rate.
Advanced notice is requested for all groups of ten or more adults, or ten or more students with chaperones. For more information, see Group Visits.
The Museum reserves the right to decide what can and cannot be carried into the galleries. In general, bulky items larger than 11" x 15" x 6" - including umbrellas, backpacks, large bags, and coats - must be left with the attendant at the front desk upon arrival.
Photography is not permitted in Museum's galleries. Guests may photograph in the front lobby or exterior of the building, but all cameras and video equipment must be checked at the front desk prior to entering the galleries.
For press and other special photography, including filming and videotape projects, please call the Curator (812-238-1676, ext. 12) during business hours or fax 812-238-1677. Any requests regarding photographs of works of art owned by the Museum for any purpose should also be addressed to the Registrar.
Sketching with pencil is permitted in the Museum galleries devoted to the permanent collection and in most special exhibitions. All other materials are prohibited. Sketch pads may not exceed 21" x 26" x 5". While sketching, please do not hinder the normal traffic flow in the galleries.
