    American Art 101
    and Swope Book Review

Have you ever wondered what it is about an artwork that allowed it to become part of the Swope collection? Well, wonder no more! Visit the Swope on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month at noon and have some of your questions answered.

Starting with a brief 15 minute discussion with Swope staff, American Art 101 will contextualize a single work from the collection within the greater scope of American Art. Similarly, the Swope Book Review will relate a book to a work in the collection. Afterward, the conversations continue as you join the staff for lunch at one of the downtown restaurants. Dutch treat, no reservation required! Please see the Events page or the calendar for details on specific topics.

Alliance of the Swope Artist Lectures

If you want to learn more about art and meet some of our local artists, look no further than the Alliance of the Swope Artist Lectures.

Following their monthly business meetings on the third Friday of each month from September through May, omitting December, the Alliance of the Swope presents its members with a program of lectures that promote the study and enjoyment of art. These lectures are also open to the public. Please see the Events page or contact the Alliance for program and membership information.
