    Print Shop/Intaglio

September 4, 2009 – November 14, 2009
Education Gallery

Sponsored by:  The Alliance of the Swope Art Museum

Including prints from the Swope collection as well as tools on loan from printmaking vendors, Print Shop/Intaglio focuses on the various techniques of intaglio printing, including dry point, etching, and aquatint. Visitors will be able to learn about the history, technique, and processes of intaglio while viewing a wide variety of work from the Swope collection, brought together exclusively for this exhibition.

Print Shop/Intaglio is the second in a four part exhibition series curated by Collections Manager Stephanie Standish to showcase the four basic printmaking techniques; relief, intaglio, lithograph and screen print. This series is designed to give viewers a stepping stool into the somewhat intimidating world of printmaking, whether as a buyer, artist or viewer.
